Over the course of the treatment children learn to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Focus and attend for longer periods of time<\/li>\n<li>Increase physical endurance and stamina<\/li>\n<li>Filter out internal and external distractions<\/li>\n<li>Improve ability to monitor mental and physical actions as they are occurring<\/li>\n<li>Progressively improve coordinated performance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The IM program has been shown to produce significant results in children and adults with a wide range of physical, developmental and cognitive difficulties including sensory integration disorders, autism spectrum disorders, non-verbal learning disorders and ADHD. IM has been shown to improve the following: attention and concentration, motor planning and sequencing, behavior (aggression and impulsivity), balance and gait, endurance, motor skills, language processing, strength, coordination.<\/p>\n<p>Ongoing studies continue to validate correlations between IM and academic achievement in mathematics, language, <g class=\"gr_ gr_34 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"34\" data-gr-id=\"34\">reading<\/g> and attention to tasks.
