georgeL+ST+2015Why choose a career in pediatrics? For Lindsey, the answer to this question is clear. She responds, “I’m still a kid at heart!” Having completed a Master’s of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2009 (UCA), Lindsey eagerly dove into her pediatric work in both clinic-based and school-based settings. When reflecting on her therapeutic approach with kids and families, she says, “I look at each child in a holistic way, determine what skills are functional in their daily lives, and involve parents and caregivers as much as possible.” She describes her dedication by explaining, “Kids have a joy in their eyes when something resonates or ‘clicks’ with them. I love seeing that! Their faces light up when they understand the power of communication.” When not working,Lindsey enjoys spending time with her husband, son (Everett) and Golden Retriever (Bojangles). She also likes sewing, crafting and being outdoors.

Lindsey’s additional professional development includes, but is not limited to, the following: training in the treatment of English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) through John Brown University, Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia Training and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) Training. Additionally, she has past experience as a LearningRx Advanced Cognitive Skill Trainer.
