For many kids, youth sports is a fixture of childhood. Coaches who are able to use athletics to build character, integrity, and perserverance are equiping children with valuable life-skills. In addition, exercise is vital to building a healthy body. However, for all the benefits of youth sports, the risk of injury is a natural part of the athletics.

Youth Sports Injury and Orthopedic Injury

According to the Center for Disease Control, children between 5 and 14 years old account for almost 40% of all sports-related injuries. To meet the growing need for pediatric orthopedic rehabilitation services in Northwest Arkansas, Children’s Therapy T.E.A.M. unveiled the region’s only exclusively pediatric Youth Sports and Ortho Rehab Program.

Avid athlete and Children’s Therapy TEAM Occupational Therapist Cara Duren notes, “The demands that are being put on children/athletes to perform is rapidly changing. We at TEAM have an opportunity to provide an edge up for kids so that they can participate at the highest level with the most success and without injury. We can use science to not only to promote rehabilitation but also to lead the way in injury prevention.”

Growing Children’s Therapy T.E.A.M.’s Family of Services

Because Children Therapy T.E.A.M. has expertise in therapeutic rehabilitation and serving pediatric populations, the move to expand services seemed like a natural fit.

Injury can be scary and frustrating. The TEAM Youth Sports and Ortho Rehab program focuses on the future as a priority with innovative rehab for speedy recovery. Pediatric occupational therapy and physical therapy rehabilitation teams offer children and teens in the region expert care and attention.
